I’m John Madden, a software developer based in Limerick, Ireland. I’m currently self-employed as a contract software developer, specialising in C and C++ development on Unix platforms. I’m also available and interested in other contract work, such as web development, open source consultancy and IT infrastructure installation and maintainance.

I completed a BSc degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications at the University of Limerick in 2004.

My primary computer experience is in *nix administration (primarily Linux and Solaris) and software development in multiple different languages (C, C++, Perl, PHP and others).

I use open source software, support open standards, submit patches and, time permitting, develop open source software.
